I am now living in Tampere for over 2 months and I haven´t been to sauna just until last week (shame on me)! So my friends from Luxembourg and me decided to go to a real sauna with real finnish guys and ice swimming afterwards.
What should I say?! It was the most extreme experience I have made until now. The average temperature was around 115 degrees but as the finns are real masochists, they pushed the sauna, from time to time, up to 125 degrees, which was really crazy. It felt like you would burn while being alive.
After sitting in the sauna for around 15 minutes to half an hour, we just went outside in the snow and walked to the little lake. I made one big mistake in the begining, I was waiting to long, standing in the water, instead of just jumping into it. Hoffmann and Carneiro, they did it and I was just waiting for them in the snow. After the ice swimming you should just wait a little bit outside in the snow, so that your body can recover and you don´t just switch from one extreme to the other.
After 5 minutes we went back to the sauna again and the second time I was also jumping in the lake and it was the most painful thing I have ever felt. It feels like millions of little lightennings run through your body or like someone would stab you with a knife again and again. We just stayed a few seconds in the water and we repeated the whole ritual again 2 times.
I think saunaing and ice swimming is an experience you will never forget and I am really looking forward to going to this happening again.

Thanks to Google Buzz the popular neophiliac society has achieved a new level in the hyperreal cyber-cultures…so let´s forget about Facebook and co. Buzz is the new thing!! What is happening to the whole Media World? It´s developping faster then yesterday and it surely will developp faster by tomrrow. How is society reacting to this phenomenon? On the one Hand there are people fallowing and creating artificially specified and pervasive lifestyles through all different kinds of media. On the other hand there are the ones who strictly refuse an adaptation to the steadily evoluation of the medias. In the end it affects us all.
And now for something completely different.
Here are my top 5 “B-Movies” (Trash, Splatter, Gore and more) of all times!
5. Staplerfahrer Klaus
A german parody to the instructional film genre. After Klaus got his fork-lift driving licence he goes on an unintentional rampage…
4. Surf Nazis Must Die
Surf Nazis are controlling the beach of California but as long as Leeroy´s mama is living they have to die!!
3. Meet the Feebles
The Muppet Show directed by Peter Jackson!! Drugs, Sex and a lot of violence.
2) Slime City
“…with an appetite for whores, bumps and junkies”. Cheap effects, great story and really bad actors…This film has everything a good trash film needs.
1. Braindead
If you haven´t seen Peter Jackson´s best movie watch it! NOW!!!!!!!!! EPIC one.
What about you? Just post your favourites in the comment section!

Today was the opening of the H.R. Giger: ART – DESIGN – FILM exhibition. As I am a big movie fan and always was interessted in Giger´s work I decided to visit Tampere´s Museum of Art (tampereen taidemuseo).
For those who don´t know Giger shame on you but nevertheless I´am going to tell you a little bit about the artist. Hans Rudolf Giger is a Swiss painter, “sculptor”, grahic designer and furniture designer. His work can be described as surrealism mixed with fantastic realism. He formed the term: Biomechanoids, a fusion of technology, mechanics and morbid creatures. He probabely is best known for his great work in the movie: ALIEN
The entry for the museum was only 2 euros for students and the women at the cashpoint told me that there were 2 other exhibitions which I could visit. But first things first: As the title indicates Giger allows inspection to a great variety of his work.
The sketches, videos, sculptures (the nubian queen microphone stand, an alien and different furniture) and documentaries (making offs of different creatures such as the vomit creature and the Facehugger) which are presented in the exhibition are mostly taken from the movies Species, Alien, Alien 3 and Poltergeist 2.
H.R. Giger himself has, as a co-operator, helped to design this exhibition.
At the end I have to say that I wasn´t really motivated to go through the other 2 exhibitions and so I left. It was really sad that there were no cameras allowed in the different sections and there were to many security guys around so that I had no possibility to take some pics! If you are living in Finnland and you are a big movie/art fan I just can recommend you this excellent exhibition.

As I wrote in the What´s up next categorie I went to my first Ice Hockey match today! The local team of Tampere played against the team from the capital city, Helsinki.
Tampere dominated the whole match but unfortunately it was the team of Helsinki which scored late but first. Tampere immediately answered with a goal so that the result after the official time was 1:1.
In the additional time Tampere again made a lot of pressure and scored the final/winning goal.
